Other Information

All members that desire to train within board squads are encouraged and looked after. Quality equipment and well prepared sessions are provided, to assist learning progress. A coach oversees every session and will provide technique assistance if required. For our beginner athletes we offer the chance to use club boards for competition and training purposes.

During winter our training sessions are held at the West Lakes where the environment provides a solid training base without the aid of waves and beach conditions. We ensure we train under SLSA conditions with risk assessments, lights, and high vis vests and of course water cover.

All members are welcome provided the following conditions are met.

  • The club can provide adequate water cover.

  • All members are required to wear a high vis tops to these training sessions

  • Members intending to train meet at the club at 4.45pm to assist with packing the trailer and board selection (when training at the Lake)

Please note: New members must be assessed with a Preliminary Skills Evaluation, suitable for the prescribed age group, prior to training commencing (red patch).

Age group members must also be assessed with a Preliminary Skills Evaluation, prior to training commencing, if this hasn’t been done previously.

During the warmer months, we will move training to West Beach and 2 sessions a week will be available for training.
