This season, has already commenced with our IRB team's racing over winter and doing well and we will commence the competition series with a four part Board and Ski Series, incorporating the Beach Series.
Surf Sports competition is an exciting part of being involved in any surf club, and one aspect that attracts and keeps many members involved in surf lifesaving. Not only is it adrenaline pumping fun, surf sports aims to prepare lifesavers for their role in saving lives, enhancing fitness and skills relevant to saving lives. As a general rule, any member that wishes to participate in competition - must have gained and remained proficient in their Bronze Medallion award. The exception is First Aid competition where you can compete with a current First AId Certificate.
We have had a good season of winter training with Boards, Skis, Beach, Ironman, Boats and Swimming having good numbers attending. The training timetable is posted on web.
We have this season appointed a male and a female Area Captain. These captains assist the Director of Surf Sports and Head Coach with with training opportunities, equipment and will be a great support for all areas.
