Age managers use their experience and passion for youth development to mentor Nippers and facilitate fun learning programs that encourage and develop young surf lifesavers. Their goal is to enrich the lives of Nippers through the delivery of surf lifesaving knowledge and skills in a fun and safe aquatic environment.

All our Age Group Managers must be :

  • Current registered members of WBSLSC
  • Hold a current Working With Children Check and ;
  • Have completed your age manager course.

To become a qualified Age Manager you must do the following:

  1. Complete the online SLSA Age Managers course or attend a face-to-face SLSA Age Managers course presentation.
  2. Undertake an on-the-beach technical session with an age manager mentor. This technical session can include time with a foundation coach.
  3. Undertake a minimum of two (2) on-the-beach mentoring sessions with an age manager mentor to complete a required third-party form.
  4. Have an age manager mentor sign off on the third-party form within the SLSA Age Managers Assessment Portfolio (or SLSA Age Managers Competency Record for those completing the online course version)

Parents/carers are encouraged to offer assistance when required and to stay with your child's group, during the session.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s ability or if your child has any medical condition that may restrict him or her in any way, please speak with your Age Manager.
